The Diocesan Museum is located at the Episcopal Complex of the Cathedral and offers an archaeological journey through Roman and early medieval artifacts, exhibition rooms of ancient liturgical furnishings in silver and fabric and other significant works, as well as rooms for temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
Next to the Museum is the Cathedral with a permanent exhibition of its artworks displayed for the veneration of the faithful.
Particularly important are the Renaissance panels by Gandolfino da Roreto, the most important figure in the Asti area between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, initially influenced by Ligurian-Nice painting, later oriented towards Lombard culture.
The Museum is completed by a large multifunctional hall created in the remaining central nave of the ancient cathedral of San Giovanni.
In it returns the ancient choir of Baldino de Surso from 1477
