The Sansone Collection, displayed mostly in the eponymous Pharmacy of Mattinata, located on the main street of the town, which preserves historical, archaeological, and folkloristic artifacts. It is certainly a must-see for visitors, both for the ancient and original pharmaceutical furnishings, and for the rich collection of archaeological findings.
An unusual combination of medicines and precious archaeological discoveries; over 4000 pieces that the late Dr. Matteo Sansone, a passionate collector, gathered by promoting archaeological research and spreading its value. It houses a good portion of the artifacts from the Monte Saraceno necropolis; but there are also Daunian steles, Daunian and Apulian vases, lithic tools, and even more recent statues belonging to the 18th-century nativity scenes, meant to reconstruct segments of our history.
