Inaugurated in 1985, it offers a complete reading path of the history of the territory. The archaeological section hosts artifacts and tools from prehistoric man to the medieval age; the mineralogical section includes minerals from the Cyclops Islands and Acicastello, including analcime, philipsite, herschelite, acicular aragonite, and also quartz, jasper, agates, and a series of Sicilian gypsum-sulfur minerals. There is also a rich collection of minerals related to volcanic activity. In the paleontological section, we find fossils dating from the Mesozoic to the Pleistocene era, ammonites, plant remains, and vertebrate bone remains.
