The water taxi is a convenient alternative, for example, to reach Boston from Logan airport: it actually only takes about 7 minutes for the journey by water, first using the free shuttle to reach the terminus of the City Water Taxi.
Each boat assigned to water taxi service can carry a maximum of 30 people at a time, making it useful both for individual travel and when touring Boston in a group.
The rides are continuous and run from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, the service stops earlier, at 8:00 PM.
Boston Water Taxi Tickets
The city water taxi tickets can be purchased on board or can be booked online. For example, a round trip Airport/Boston/Airport ride costs 17 dollars, while children under 12 years of age travel completely free.
As for the stops, the service has been designed to be useful for reaching the main museums, the Cruise terminal, the Exhibition and Congress Hall, the Naval Marina, the dock for the Provincetown ferry to Cape Cod, and some Boston hotels.
