Designed at the end of the 15th century by Mauro Codussi, it stands like a triumphal arch in St. Mark’s Square, overlooking the access to the city’s vital commercial street, the ancient Merceria.
With its large Astronomical Clock, a masterpiece of technique and engineering, the Tower is an indispensable element of Venice’s very image and has marked, for five hundred years now, its life, history, and the continuous flow of time.
The visit route allows you to closely observe the complex mechanisms of the clock and to go out onto the terraces from which you can enjoy a splendid view of St. Mark’s Square and the entire city.
