Designed at the end of the 15th century by Mauro Codussi, it towers like a triumphal arch in Piazza San Marco, marking the entrance to the city’s vital commercial street, the ancient Merceria.
With its large astronomical Clock, a masterpiece of technique and engineering, the Tower is an indispensable element of Venice’s image itself and has marked, for five hundred years now, the life, history, and continuous flow of time.
The visit path allows close observation of the clock’s complex mechanisms and access to the terraces from which you can enjoy a splendid view of Piazza San Marco and the entire city.
