Here, in the homeland of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the seven notes receive maximum attention especially in summer when, from late July throughout the month of August, the Salzburg Festival or Salzburger Festspiele takes place.
Recently, a seasonal version was also established during Easter, but the main event remains the summer one.
In 2006, the Festival commemorated the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth in grand style with a special edition: indeed, all 22 works of the artist were staged.
The Salzburg Festival is a worldwide event both for the number of performances offered daily and in terms of important names competing to participate; obviously, the audience responds with great enthusiasm and tickets sell out quickly.
