In a former industrial area of about 19,000 sqm, the Autonomous Province of Trento asked Renzo Piano not only for a museum but a center for reflection on the relationship between nature and humans. And thus MUSE was born. So successful that, as the only Italian museum, it earned an honorable mention at the 2015 European Museum of the Year Awards.
From the mountains to sustainability challenges, from the first humans to the secrets of DNA. With “special effects” to experience the same emotions as climbing Dolomite walls or skiing downhill freely.
While it is a reality to touch fossils and minerals, use the microscope, enter the large greenhouse with living plants from the Tanzanian forest.
And also, the fossil footprints of alpine dinosaurs, the first painted stones, and the weapons of prehistoric hunters from the Ice Age.
In a science gym, principles of physics and mechanics are learned with interactive installations.
