Bagnata dal Caribbean Sea, the city of Quintana Roo actually comprises two areas. The city itself is located on the mainland, while the island (with its characteristic shape resembling the number 7, stretching 22 kilometers) mostly hosts hotel chains. Two bridges connect the island to the Mexican mainland: one over the Nichupte channel, the other over the opposite Nizuc channel.
Landing at Cancun airport, the second busiest and one of the safest in Mexico, you’ll find a wide range of options to discover. One of Cancun’s greatest attractions is certainly the opportunity to engage in thrilling activities, thanks to over 25 water sports centers operated with the least possible environmental impact.
Surrounded by the fabulous waters of the Caribbean Sea, home to the Mesoamerican Great Barrier Reef (the second largest in the world), you can’t help but dive in and admire the extraordinary underwater world. Beginners or experts can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving as well as surfing, windsurfing, parasailing, and fishing (both fly fishing and deep-sea).
