The Ventimiglia Section of the State Archives was established in 1951 and is now dependent on the main office in Imperia. It preserves documentation from the 13th to the 20th century, comprising around 6,000 items, including volumes, registers, maps, bundles, and parchments. The public services offered are: a study room for consulting archival material, both for study and legal-administrative use, with access to bibliographic resources; photocopying; guided tours; correspondence information; various cultural initiatives. The documentation particularly allows for historical studies, whether political-institutional or socio-economic, on the city of Ventimiglia and the western Ligurian area. The Section is located in a 19th-century building.
