La Sezione di Archivio di Stato di Ventimiglia was established in 1951 and now depends on the main office in Imperia. It preserves documents from the 13th to the 20th century with about 6,000 pieces, including volumes, registers, maps, files, and parchments. The public services are the following: study room for consulting archival material, both for study and legal-administrative use, with access to bibliographic material; photocopying; guided tours; correspondence information; various cultural initiatives. The documentation offers, in particular, opportunities for historical studies, both political-institutional and socio-economic, on the city of Ventimiglia and the western Ligurian coast. The Section is located in a 19th-century building.
