The civic museums of Sulmona are housed in the Santissima Annunziata complex, one of the most important buildings in the city, founded in 1320 as an orphanage and hospital for the sick.
The museum complex is divided into four sections: archaeological, medieval-modern, the Roman domus hall, and the museum of Abruzzo-Molise folk costume and transhumance. The medieval-modern section is located in five rooms on the first floor featuring sculptures, paintings, and goldsmith art from the 12th to the 18th century.
