The vast monumental complex is made up of the palace built in 1120 and remodeled in the 14th century, the church of S. Pietro in Consavia, a square-plan building constructed in 1467, and the cloister of the Pilgrims’ Hospice built between the 12th and 15th centuries. The complex hosts exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. From the cloister, you access the Archaeological Museum, which is housed in the former Pilgrims’ hospital. It collects local archaeological finds from the Etruscan-Italic area and has a room dedicated to the Egyptian section and Paleontology with an important collection from the Tertiary Era.
