The church of St. Domenico, with the attached convent, is certainly one of the most significant monuments in Foligno. Used since 1870 as a stable for the army, then as a gymnasium, and finally as a warehouse, it houses an authentic anthology of late Gothic painting inside. It was only after the roof collapsed (1976) that active efforts began for a comprehensive restoration of its structure, which was completed 20 years later. Today, the spaces of the Auditorium present themselves as diverse and multifunctional. The historic container remained unchanged, while inside two suspended walkways were created to serve the lighting systems, almost like modern galleries at the same height as the existing ones. The internal fittings were designed to allow versatile use of the spaces. In correspondence with the transept, a steel structure was installed for acoustic reflection. The seating in the stalls has been made with chairs partly fixed and partly mounted on retractable telescopic stands.
