The catacombs of San Vittorino, built on the site where the saint was martyred, lie beneath the church of Saint Michael the Archangel and consist of six rooms carved into the rock, intended to host the burials of the faithful.
In the main chamber is the martyr’s tomb, constructed by the will of Bishop Quodvultdeus, who in the 5th century AD had a marble shrine built using spolia pieces from the archaeological site of Amiternum and contemporary marble reliefs.
