The Pulsano Civic Museum has received the “Papale” collection donation, consisting of about 600 artifacts from the farming civilization, which until 2011 was available at the “Papale” Museum of Farming Civilization in the Crocifisso district of Pulsano. Furthermore, the Archaeological Superintendency of Taranto is willing, once the Museum is arranged, to exhibit the numerous archaeological finds discovered in the territory of Pulsano in temporary exhibitions. In fact, the origins of Pulsano are very ancient, as evidenced by important discoveries dating back to the Bronze Age (11th-10th century BC) and the discovery of a necropolis (14th century BC). The intense commercial activity of the people of Pulsano with the peoples of the Aegean is also demonstrated by numerous remains of Mycenaean pottery.
