The Paleo Archeo Center is a newly designed museum, dynamic and closely connected to the surrounding territory. A place to understand scientific and historical phenomena, their importance in our cultural formation, and their practical application in everyday life. Education, collaboration with schools and universities, and laboratory activities are all fundamental objectives of the P.AR.C. museum. The center is divided into three sections: Paleontological, Archaeological, and Educational. The paleontological section illustrates general concepts of paleontology and geology, necessary for understanding the Earth’s history. This section displays the local fossil collection. The archaeological section recounts the Nuragic, Punic, and Roman discoveries in the area. Visitors can admire a model of the summit of Santu Antine hill, reconstructed with the Roman church, Punic fortifications, the nuraghe, and the deepest Nuragic-origin well in Sardinia. This part of the museum is completed by a 1:1 diorama of the bottom of the well and reproductions of artifacts found inside it. The laboratory, where theory turns into practice, occupies a large museum hall and is equipped with boxes and materials for simulating paleontological and archaeological excavations, as well as videos describing the work of archaeologists and paleontologists.
