In line with the most advanced concept of a territorial museum, which aims at the knowledge and enhancement of local resources, the “Museum of the Ancient Peoples of Lucania” was inaugurated in Vaglio in 2006. The exhibition offers educational reconstructions, both virtual and life-size, of the main archaeological contexts with faithful reproductions of materials, which increase the accessibility and enjoyment of the cultural heritage. Integrating into the regional museum system through a dense network of thematic links, the Vaglio Museum complements the tour of the archaeological sites of Serra and Rossano, following the current idea of a “diffused museum”.
