In line with the most advanced concept of a territorial museum, which aims at the knowledge and enhancement of local resources, in 2006 the “Museum of the Ancient Peoples of Lucania” was inaugurated in Vaglio. The exhibition offers for educational purposes virtual and life-size reconstructions of the main archaeological contexts with faithful reproductions of the materials, which increase accessibility and usability of the cultural heritage. Becoming part of the regional museum system through a dense network of thematic links, the Museum of Vaglio integrates the route to the archaeological sites of Serra and Rossano, according to the current idea of a “diffused museum”.
