The Museum is located in the San Bartolomeo hamlet. The San Bartolomeo hamlet is one of the smallest hamlets in the municipal territory. Farming activity is predominantly highlighted. Within its area are the municipal sports field and the bocce court. The Museum is housed in a brand new building which is an old rural structure, a typical example, and one of the last here in Montoro Inferiore, of a landowner’s building from the early twentieth century. Architecturally, the building develops on multiple levels consisting of a basement, a ground floor, and a first floor, with a related attic, for an above-ground volume of about 2,150 square meters. The existing total usable areas are as follows: 1. basement: 160.00 sqm 2. ground floor: 197.00 sqm useful + 90 sqm surface used as a terrace 3. first floor: 160.00 sqm 4. attic: 160.00 sqm The building has been completely renovated and restored. The ground floor houses a series of rooms designated as exhibition areas. The first floor is dedicated to activities and the function of a library. The attic will be used as a workshop for the recovery and restoration of objects. The building is equipped with restrooms for visitors and has disabled access. It is directly connected with the library, located on the upper floor, to facilitate consultation of works related to the museum. It features, at the basement level, suitable spaces for the storage of artifacts. It has a front area which can be used as an exhibition space during the summer period.
