The museum was founded in the jubilee year 2000 by the will of the Episcopal Curia under the direction of Monsignor Salvatore del Cuoco with the aim of preserving and enhancing the value of the diocese’s heritage.
It is divided into three sections:
Archaeological section; Historical-artistic section; Sacred art section – Papal treasures.
