The Museum is located in the Historic Center of Trebisacce, situated on Via dei Massari (formerly Via dei Frantoi), near the Chapel of St. Anthony. The building was originally an olive mill inactive for over twenty years, precisely since 1934, known as “‘u trappitu ‘i Cinchillibre”, and it remained active until 1986. The facility is managed under a free loan agreement by the A.O.P.C.A. “L. Noia” Association (Nonprofit Association for the Promotion of Culture and Art), whose President is Prof. Francesco Noia. In June 2005, Prof. Piero de Vita de Vita was appointed Director of the facility. The museum, divided into three large rooms, displays tools for olive grinding, vats for collecting oil, and various objects of peasant culture.
