Jesolo has officially welcomed a brand-new attraction, instantly recognizable even from several kilometers away: the new Jesolo Ferris Wheel is now up and running.
The grand opening took place on Friday, August 8, 2014, with a public ceremony that unveiled all the exciting possibilities this impressive new feature brings to the city. The Jesolo Ferris Wheel stands in Piazza Brescia, right next to the Pala Arrex arena.
From high above, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views stretching along the coast and out toward the skyline of Venice. The project used the same design as the famous and magical Roue de Paris, found in Place de la Concorde.
The wheel features 42 closed, air-conditioned cabins—perfect for a fun ride in both summer and winter. Each cabin accommodates up to eight people.
The Jesolo Ferris Wheel reaches a height of 60 meters and weighs an astonishing 380 tons, making it the tallest mobile Ferris wheel in the world. More than just a fun attraction for all ages, the city considers it a unique way to provide romantic and magical moments for everyone.
The first weddings aboard the Jesolo Ferris Wheel are already being planned: the “VIP cabin”, complete with fridge and champagne, is available so couples can say their vows high above the city against a spectacular backdrop.
Local hoteliers are also working on special offers and tourist packages to ensure the Ferris wheel stays open into the winter, at least through New Year’s.
Here are the current ticket prices for the Jesolo Ferris Wheel:
- full ticket: 10 euros;
- reduced ticket: 8 euros.
The reduced ticket is available for children under 140 centimeters tall.
