The archaeological area includes a section of the monumental necropolis that developed between the late Hellenistic age and the early Imperial period along an extra-urban road axis which, leaving the ancient city of Abella, led westwards toward the Campanian plain. The complex open to the public comprises four funerary mausoleums, bordered by enclosures and built using opus incerta or reticulata, with brick inserts. The mausoleums can be classified among architectural types that are widely known in other contemporary centers of ancient Campania.
