The museum represents a fundamental stop for understanding the Argenta area, strongly linked to reclamation works. The visit includes an exhibition in the Saiarino pumping station and in the emissary lock which illustrates, through artifacts and descriptions of their functioning, the history of interventions made to drain the Argenta area that, over the centuries, has used all techniques, from natural drainage reclamation to mechanical reclamation. The “archaeological walk” includes a knowledge path discovering the machines used in the past for reclamation work, such as excavators, presses, wheelbarrows, pile drivers; the visit then allows direct contact with the canals and the delivery basin leading to the large pump hall, where visitors can admire six imposing Liberty style pumps, dating back to 1925, still perfectly operational. The visit is completed by the rooms of the thermoelectric plant where visitors are invited to understand the functioning of the plant for electricity production and to deepen the history of the community, protagonist in the reclamation, documented through images, objects, and photographs. The visit is enriched by the screening of a film that traces the stages of the evolution of tools and working methods.
