The archaeological museum, housed in the 19th-century Courthouse building, is divided into two sections. The first describes the phase of Interamnia from the 12th century BC to the 7th century AD, displaying extensive artifacts from the city sites such as the theater, amphitheater, and domus, including the notable Lion’s House with its extraordinary mosaic. Among the objects in this section are several fine Roman marble sculptures, such as the portrait of Septimius Severus. The second section on the upper floor narrates the history of the territory, inhabited by the Pretuzi and the Piceni, from Prehistory to the Middle Ages.
