The archaeological museum, housed in the nineteenth-century Tribunal palace, is divided into two sections. The first describes the Interamnia phase from the 12th century BC to the 7th century AD by exhibiting significant evidence from city sites such as the theater, amphitheater, and domus, among which stands out the lion’s house with the extraordinary mosaic. Among the objects in this section are several valuable Roman marble sculptures, such as the portrait of Septimius Severus. The second section on the upper floor narrates the history of the territory, inhabited by the Pretuzi and the Piceni, from Prehistory to the Middle Ages.
