Undoubtedly unmissable is the Christmas market in Paris located on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, which extends from the roundabout of the Champs-Élysées to Place de la Concorde. There are 145 stalls and kiosks where you can purchase typical handcrafted products and taste local gastronomic specialties such as capon, smoked salmon, oysters, snails, foie gras, and the traditional dessert Bûche de Noël. The large market is usually open to the public from November until the first days of January and is enhanced by a stunning lighting display unique in the world!
Arriving at the beginning of the Champs-Élysées avenue, tourists are greeted by a true spectacle of lights on the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile. The Eiffel Tower then takes the appearance of a sparkling gigantic Christmas tree!
Additional ‘marché de Noël‘ (Christmas markets) are found near the Saint-Sulpice church, on Place Saint-Germain-des-Pres, on Rue Jean de la Fontain, and under the Grande Arche de la Fraternité in the modern La Défense district.
