The architecture museum is dedicated to Antonio da Sangallo the Younger (1484 – 1546) and is housed on the ground floor of the Rocca dei Papi; it is primarily characterized as a true study center for this prominent figure, who was linked to Tuscia through the works he carried out here: in particular, his work is visible in Montefiascone, where he built the church of S. Maria di Montedoro and restored the Rocca dei Papi.
The museum offers extensive documentation with photographs, drawings, plaster casts, and models; the exhibition path begins with a thematic section presenting the architect’s Roman works and continues with an illustration of the techniques he adopted.
The Montefiascone museum is part of the Bolsena Lake Museum System.
