The exhibition activity, although characterized by temporary exhibitions, guarantees thematic exhibition paths of great scientific interest in the city of Canosa.
The current exhibition, entitled “1912. An hypogeum on the border. The Varrese tomb,” allows the public to appreciate the extraordinary significance of the equipment of the Canosa aristocracy between the late 4th century and the first half of the 3rd century.
Materials from the Mazza Collection of the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Bari and the Varrese collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto are on display.
The exhibition is a unique event to learn about artifacts acquired in the second decade of the last century from different museum containers, bringing them back, according to distribution criteria, to the unified context of the discovery.
