After a long restoration lasting two years, the Special Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome reopens the Octagonal Hall of the Baths of Diocletian in Rome, more commonly known as The Planetarium.

This Roman octagonal hall, since its inauguration on October 28, 1928, held the record for the largest Planetarium in Europe for a long time.

The consolidation operations have ensured the safety of the complex, restoring consistency and stability to the ancient structures. A careful work of micro sandblasting under controlled pressure on the intrados of the dome of the Rotunda Diocletiani has, in fact, brought to light the original masonry texture and the ribs of the ancient dome.
