Il museo ospitato nella ottocentesca dimora in stile neoclassico lombardo del barone Ferrante Frigerj presenta un allestimento completamente rinnovato secondo sistemi etnico-territoriali, evidenziando in tal modo la segmentazione di gruppi etnici a partire dalle fasi iniziali dell’Età del Ferro fino all’Alto Medio Evo. La lettura e la comprensione della storia di questi popoli viene proposta attraverso le peculiarità del territorio di appartenenza e delle sue trasformazioni nel tempo. I popoli illustrati al primo piano del museo sono i Vestini Transmontani, i Vestini Cismontani, i Peligni , i Marrucini, i Carricini.
On the ground floor, the setup of the new Warrior of Capestrano room created by Mimmo Paladino in 2011 places the sculpture from the 6th century BC, already of extraordinary importance and fame, in a suggestive “Beyond Time” scenography that only the inspiration of one of the most famous contemporary art masters could create and which alone deserves a visit to the Museum.
Finally, the two Pansa and Numismatic collections, given their specificity, are located on the ground floor, outside the territorial routes.
