Le Scuderie Aldobrandini, already visible in the engraving by Matheus Greuter from 1620, were originally born as a service structure for the villa of the same name. With the architectural restoration designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, a multifunctional space was created with original innovations suitable for the presentation of both the permanent archaeological collection and art exhibitions, educational workshops, multimedia spaces, and auditorium. The collection of artifacts at the Museo Tuscolano, located on the ground floor, represents one of the few historical collections in the province of Rome. The visit route, chronological-thematic, mainly referring to the republican and imperial periods, ends in the historical-artistic section where models of the Tuscolan Villas are displayed, alongside various precious ancient engravings. The largest part of the collection consists of numerous materials found in Tusculum, including those recently identified in the area of the Forum and Theater by the Spanish School of History and Archaeology. In the historical-artistic section, ten wooden models of the Tuscolan Villas and numerous rare engravings and medals related to the Renaissance villas and famous personalities such as the Duke of York, bishop of the diocese of Frascati, are exhibited.
