The Archaeological Museum of Barbarano Romano preserves artifacts from the Etruscan rock-cut necropolises of the area, the main one being that of San Giuliano, about 2 km to the NE of the town. The material mostly consists of funeral equipment, found in tombs datable from the end of the 9th century BC (Villanovan period) to the 3rd century BC (more recent burials). These are mainly bronze and ceramic artifacts, but there are also several sarcophagi and tuff obelisks.
