The interesting construction of Castel Moos was originally a fortified medieval residential tower, which was subsequently enriched with furnishings and frescoes from the 1400s. Particularly notable are the frescoes depicting the ‘War of the Cats and the Mice’ (circa 1410). The museum is the result of a foundation by the Bolzano merchant Walter Amonn, who in 1983 donated the castle and part of his collection of paintings by Tyrolean artists from the first half of the 20th century to the community.
