The Museum of Oriental Art was born from the redefinition, renewal, and expansion of the Oriental Section of the Civic Museum of Ancient Art.
The Municipality of Turin has made the Palazzo Mazzonis, a building it owns located at the intersection of S. Domenico and S. Agostino streets, available for the new museum.
The MAO also aims to collect, preserve, and present to the public significant works of artistic production from Asian societies and to allow scholars of the culture and art of those countries a deeper study of the works themselves.
