December: Cali Fair from 25 to 30
September: World Salsa Festival, from September 14 to 21
Easter: The Holy Week in Popayan (lasting 8 days). The Holy Week celebrations are a legacy of Spanish rule and are inspired by those of Seville and Valladolid. The Holy Week processions are very old, dating back to 1566. There are mainly 3: The Palm Sunday Procession with the blessing of the Palms; the Holy Tuesday Procession, at night; the Holy Friday Procession, the most symbolic one that evokes the drama of the Passion.
Besides the adult processions, there is also the Chiquitas Procession made by children between 5 and 11 years old and the Religious Music Festival.
