It is the right time to book a December trip to discover the Christmas markets in Denmark. Here, the Christmas season is experienced with great enthusiasm and in respect of an ancient tradition; it is no coincidence that in Denmark you can find some of the most magical and beautiful Christmas markets.
Christmas Markets in Denmark
Although there are some charming ones in the same city of Copenhagen, the suggestion is to venture further to discover other markets but above all other places in Denmark.
For example, some markets are set up inside castles: the whole will appear even more suggestive and fairy-tale-like.
In particular, the Christmas bazaars in the Kronborg Castle, in the Valdemar Castle, and in the Dragsholm Castle deserve a visit.
Other markets to consider are only those of Vejle, a town in the countryside of the Grejs valley, and those of Arhus.
In the first case, you can reach the place on board steam trains, traveling through snowy fairy-tale landscapes: this is one of the peculiarities that will make the trip to Denmark even more special.

In the second case, however, it is recommended to visit the Christmas markets of Arhus because you will take a dive into the past: in the historic “Den Gamle By – the Old Town” the atmosphere of the years around 1625 and 1929 will be recreated: a long historical and social excursus on the theme of Christmas.
If instead you want to go further north, then in Skagen there is something unmissable: the living Advent calendar.
Regardless of the area of Denmark you want to visit, the first move to make is to book flights to Copenhagen or flights to Billund: here land the airbuses Ryanair, easyJet, SAS and Norwegian.
