Nel 2003 following a reorganization project of the Historical Archive and Library of the Municipality of Laterza, a multifaceted structure called the “Citadel of Culture” was inaugurated, which houses several facilities: The Library with a rich collection of about 8,000 books; the Municipal Historical Archive with important historical documents; The Educational Archaeology Museum which collects artifacts from the Neolithic civilization, ancient fragments of ceramic objects and artifacts ranging from the 7th century BC to the 19th century. The Educational Archaeology Museum, through its artifacts, allows the reconstruction of local history providing useful information about territorial cultures and outlining precise historical contexts.
