Nel 2003 following a project to reorganize the Historical Archive and Library of the Municipality of Laterza, a versatile structure called the “Cittadella della Cultura” was inaugurated, which houses several facilities: The Library with a rich collection of about 8000 books; the Municipal Historical Archive with important historical documents; The Educational Archaeology Museum which collects artifacts from the Neolithic civilization, ancient fragments of ceramic objects, and artifacts ranging from the 7th century BC to the 19th century. The Educational Archaeology Museum allows, through its artifacts, to reconstruct local history providing useful information on territorial cultures and outlining precise historical contexts.
