This captivating route crosses five US states: Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, and is also part of the Triple Crown of Hiking in the United States of America along with the Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian Trail, and among the three, it is also the most challenging and oldest.

It takes about 6 months to complete the entire route and only 200 people have accomplished the feat.
