The San Daniele Territory Museum is located in the seventeenth-century cloister of the old hospital, formerly a Dominican convent. The San Daniele museum displays precious works of art: archaeological finds, goldsmithery, ancient coins, glass, ceramics, terracotta, paintings.
The territory museum is divided into three main sections: archaeology, sacred art, and ethnography. The archaeological section presents finds from discoveries and excavations carried out in the area, which allow following the evolution of life in the zone from the period between the 11th and 8th century B.C. up to the medieval period.
The sacred art section includes, among other things, two wooden altars from the churches of St. Anthony Abbot and St. Mary of the Fratta; the part dedicated to painting is also rich, with works on panel, canvas, and remains of frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries. The ethnographic section completes the exhibition with artifacts related to the arts and crafts of Friulian civilization.
