Born from the passion of the Fortini family for antique objects of all kinds, the exhibition features over 3000 pieces related to the rural and local reality of the past. The museum groups objects and tools according to their type and functionality into thematic sections that reconstruct aspects of the rural and artisan world. Through the collection of objects, it is possible to revisit the blacksmith’s, carpenter’s, shoemaker’s, cooper’s, and lumberjack’s workshop; there is also the reconstruction of the farmer’s cellar and kitchen complete with all its utensils. There are sections dedicated to weights, measures, the stable, fieldwork, and weaving through the loom.
The visitor is finally captivated by the realistic reconstruction of an old school classroom from the early 1900s with schoolbags, notebooks, books, old desks, inkwells, pens, report cards, toys, etc.
The permanent exhibition of ancient trades and peasant civilization offers guided tours throughout the year aimed at school groups of all levels. In addition, at request and depending on weather conditions, some reenactments of trades and activities that have now disappeared are organized, such as manual threshing, spinning, seed winnowing, and other activities traditionally practiced in the countryside.
