Il Museo Diocesano di San Marco Argentano is located in the historic church of San Giovanni, no longer open for worship, and was inaugurated on May 25, 2006. The museum area is arranged on two levels: on the ground floor the sacred silverware of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries is displayed, and on the upper floor the sacred vestments and paintings spanning a time frame from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century are housed. Among the valuable works are the thirteenth-century silver reliquary cross, hammered and embossed, and the silver bust of Saint Nicholas, commissioned by Bishop Nicola Brescia in 1765 and most likely originating from the workshop of Filippo Del Giudice.
