Il Museo, open since 2003, displays private collections from Latroniche purchased by the Municipality, thanks to funding from the Banco di Napoli Institute – Foundation. The setup is thematic and divided into eight different sections: Wheat cycle; Grape cycle; Clothing; The carpenter; The blacksmith; The shoemaker; The dwelling (The kitchen; The bedroom); Transport and roadways. The Museum stands out for the attention it gives to the exhibition of farm work tools and those of artisans supporting agriculture; it also documents the activities of the farrier and the tinsmith. It also displays household objects. Each displayed object is marked with an inventory number.
Most of the objects come from the Latroniche area and the rest from Lagonegro, Senisese, and others from outside the region, especially from Campania.
The Museum has a computerized system for inventory-cataloging its objects with over 800 catalog cards accompanied by digitized images, a dedicated website, a CD-ROM on the collection, and additional informational material.
