The Museum, open since 2003, displays private collections from Latronico acquired by the Municipality, thanks to funding from the Banco di Napoli Institute – Foundation. The exhibition is thematic and divided into eight different sections: Grain Cycle; Grape Cycle; Clothing; The Carpenter; The Blacksmith; The Cobbler; The Dwelling (The Kitchen; The Bedroom); Transport and Roads. The Museum is distinguished by its focus on exhibiting tools used in peasant labor and by artisans supporting agriculture; it also documents the activities of the farrier and the tinker. Additionally, it displays domestic objects. Each exhibited object is marked with an inventory number.
Most of the objects come from the Latronico area, with the rest from Lagonegrese, Senise, and others from outside the region, particularly from Campania.
The Museum has a computerized system for inventory-cataloging its objects with over 800 catalogue cards accompanied by digitized images, a dedicated website, a CD-ROM about the collection, and additional informational material.
