The Museo laboratorio ex manifattura tabacchi was founded in 1998 by the Municipality of Città Sant’Angelo. In 2001, under the new direction of the artist Enzo De Leonibus, it became a laboratory for experimentation and research useful for all possible expressions of contemporary visual art. Over the years the Museo laboratorio has become, before being an exhibition venue, a meeting and working place for artists, creating important relationships and becoming a point of reference for contemporary art. Since 2002 it has carried out continuous activity thus realizing what had been hoped for since its inception, which took place with foresight and a mix of cultural passion and political choices. Over the years, the Museo has managed to trace new paths, outline different horizons, indicate new goals, build the identity of the cultural and artistic heritage especially for artists, cultural operators and privileged audiences.
