The Tobacco Factory Museum Laboratory was founded in 1998 by the Municipality of Città Sant’Angelo. In 2001, under the new direction of the artist Enzo De Leonibus, it became a laboratory for experimentation and research useful to all possible expressions of contemporary visual art. Over the years, the Museum Laboratory has become, before being an exhibition place, a meeting and working place for artists, creating important relationships and becoming a point of reference for contemporary art. Since 2002, it has started continuous activity, thus achieving what had been hoped for since its inception, which took place with a farsighted spirit and a mix of cultural passion and political choices. Over the years, the Museum has managed to trace new paths, outline different horizons, indicate new destinations, and build the identity of the cultural and artistic heritage, especially for artists, cultural operators, and the privileged public.
