Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions “Serafino Amabile Guastella.” Created by the Cultural Association “Serafino Amabile Guastella” and opened to the public in 1978, the museum reconstructs the artisanal and farming environment of the County of Modica, with careful attention to detail, preserving a precious heritage of original tools, furnishings, and utensils that are presented as symbols of Modican identity itself. This is the ideal place for those who love to take a step back in time. The museum invites visitors to experience the space of ancient artisan workshops: the carpenter, the tinsmith, the barber, the plate mender, the confectioner, the saddler, the ropemaker, the basket maker, the tailor, the stonemason, the pickman, the shoemaker, the blacksmith, the carter, the honey maker. The picture of memory is completed by the extraordinary reconstruction of a typical rural house, ‘a massaria”.
