Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions “Serafino Amabile Guastella”. Created by the Cultural Association “Serafino Amabile Guastella” and opened to the public in 1978, the museum reconstructs the artisan and farming environment of the County of Modica, with careful attention to detail, preserving a precious heritage of original tools, furniture, and utensils that are presented as a symbol of Modican identity. This is the ideal place for those who love to take a step back in time. The museum invites visitors to experience the space of ancient artisan workshops: the carpenter, the tinsmith, the barber, the plate mender, the confectioner, the saddler, the rope maker, the basket maker, the tailor, the stonemason, the pickaxe worker, the shoemaker, the blacksmith, the cartwright, the honey producer. The picture of memory is completed by the extraordinary reconstruction of a typical rural dwelling, ‘a massaria’.
